MY KEY PROJECTS
Recognizing the urgent need to educate children and teenagers with intellectual and developmental disabilities(IDD) about basic economic concepts, I spearheaded a convenient store installation project after securing support from GS Retail. Thanks to the Yookyoung Praise Market, students with IDD now have a fun and engaging way to learn how to shop and make payments.
Together with my like-minded, art-loving friends, I passionately designed and painted mural artworks on abandoned walls, phone booths, and various other public spaces. Our goal was to transform neglected areas into vibrant, aesthetic environments that inspire and delight every visitor. Through these murals, we aimed to bring beauty and creativity to community spaces, fostering a sense of pride and connection among passersby while showcasing the transformative power of art.
Multicultural children in Korea often face a range of challenges, including limited Korean language fluency, difficulties adapting to school environments, and identity crises. Recognizing the social and emotional struggles many of these children experience, I developed a specialized art therapy program aimed at supporting their mental well-being. This program uses creative expression to help them navigate their feelings, build self-confidence, and foster a sense of belonging. Through participating in art-making activities, these children can explore their identities, improve communication skills, and develop resilience in a safe and welcoming environment.
